In order to strengthen Ottawa’s economic development voice in the global knowledge based economy, the Ottawa Economic Development Corporation (OED) joined OCRI in 2001 to become OCRI Global Marketing.  OGM works with the private sector and all three levels of government to attract investment, people, and companies to the region. As the leading organization in the branding and marketing of Ottawa internationally, OGM established Ottawa as a Global Technology Centre, and continuously increases the awareness of Ottawa's major attributes among targeted decision makers.

The mission of OGM is to provide a coherent brand image to internal and external audiences; to foster economic prosperity in the region through the attraction of investment, people and companies; and to increase investment from OCRI's private and public sector partners.

Supported by The Ottawa Partnership (TOP), the private sector partners, and all three levels of government, OGM’s Program achievements and growing web of relationships and networks are helping to create the winning conditions that allow Ottawa to continue to attract international investment.

OGM is realizing these objectives by focusing its efforts on three key areas:

• responding to requests for information and strategic support from internal and external stakeholders;
• taking the lead in developing and promoting a consistent message that positions Ottawa and Ottawa-based businesses for success; and
• by working in partnership with key decision makers at home and around the world.
